You can put whatever you want as long as its reef safe ie:doesn't have an appetite for corals.

    How's that 750 gallon doing?:'

Your asking for trouble trying to have it both ways. With that said I'm not sure about eels as I've never had one and they are scary. Certain triggers have been said to be ok by some of the reefers. Triggers like to bury themselves in the rocks at night which could loosen up the reef and they eat inverts. I heard the blue jaw trigger may be ok. I have an asphur angel which leaves the corals alone for the most part but will peck at certain softies. Lionfish are predators bigtime! Little fish would disappear without a trace which means no clowns, gobbies, damsels etc. I know you have a 265 gal tank which is in reality one foot longer than my 210. Look at my signature and see the fish in my tank. It's a hit and miss with fish but at least give yourself a fighting chance by following the experience of others. Here's a compatiblity chart from Live Aquaria and good luck. I want to see some pics!
    Marine Compatability Chart

This is where I read about the Asphur Angel's possible compatibility to corals. This has been a nice source of information for me. This guy's warehouse is about 10 miles from me.
