I would suggest investing in a skimmer first before adding any other inhabitants.

id not impulse buy one of those skimmers from your LFS. id do a bit of research into what you need. and pay once for something you need than just guesstimate. you have to make sure the dimensions of that skimmer fits in your sump unless its a HOB style.

as for it being overstocked, i dont think its overstocked at the moment in my opinion. so long as those tangs arent full grown at 1' long each :)

I already have 2 tangs in my tank.. No aggressive that I can see until now.

Um the sump is a custom made sump, when the water falls into the sump it us filtered by " filter media," and activated carbon)

The tangs are juveniles.. I always buy all my livestock when they are babies because I like to see them grow.

The skimmer the lfs sells can be used as a hang in filter or a pump can be place on my sump leaving the skimmer outside. The skimmer is for a 220G, and it's coralife. Think this should do? What else should I look into to choose a skimmer?

i believe investigating in a skimmer is a must in this hobby. Please do your self a favour and buy a good quality product the first time around. you will save yourself money in the end. do a little research before you buy. nothing in this hobby should be done on a impluse. i don't know what your plans are when it comes to coral, but if you plan on keeping some or have some then i'm sure everyone on here would agree that a skimmer is mandatory. to answer your question though, i don't think your overstocked but close.

LFS says it can be used as both. Like i mentioned t
you can place a pump in the sump leaving the skimmer outside, or it can be placed as a hang in OR you can place it inside sump...Don't have any pics since I just called them to see what they had.

you could check out the octopus HOB skimmers. I hear they're pretty decent, but big and red lol.

theres a ton of options out there. and as Nugio mentioned ebay/craigslist are great places to find used equipment for cheaper. i personally have better luck trolling craigslist for parts than i do ebay, but that just may be because i live in chicago and alot of people sell stuff on craigslist that is reef related.
