The details are scarce but Dymax is starting to leak pics of their new pico - the Dymax IQ5. It appears little has changed to the popular aquarium itself since the IQ3 with its nice integrated wet/dry filter, overflow and great styling.

The noticable difference between the two is the LED light has been beefed up from 28 LEDS to 43 in a slightly larger fixture with separate controls for the blue/whites. Whether that satisfies the reef crowd remains to be seen. Personally I just put my IQ3 on my desk at work and will probably put a PAR30 LED spot on it, be done with it and enjoy this great pico.

Eheim is bringing some style to the nano scene with their own line of nanos - the Eheim aquastyle. Style points abound with a rimless, rounded corner aquarium and glass lid. A 7w LED lamp with 81 interconnected diodes that is powered by a fully adjustable light track (no wires). A 4w filter complete with media baskets, Eheim substrate pro-media and a really cool waterfall return. Throw in a towering 40" tall optional pedestal stand and you have one cool nano. EcoTech, Hydor et al - take note - an industrial design student has created a patent-pending pump design based on the mechanics of a basking shark that produces 40 percent more power than traditional prop pumps thanks to incorporating pressure differentials. "The water enters the turbine through the first opening and the second nozzle – like the shark’s gills – compresses the water and creates a low-pressure zone to draw the water through and generate more energy." Way to go Anthony Reale. Do you like aquariums?
