Zooanthids closing up at night...

    My new zoo's closed up about 15min after lights out. There is a moon light up above, so I would think they would be chilled out. I know they're photosynthetic , so that's a good reason. No light means no polyps? Anyone...?

    Yeah they are fine. Mine took a bit with my moonlight to adjust. No worries.

    I get the same response from my polyps. Sometimes they close in the day as well. No worries as Matt said.

    If a polyp doesn't need to feed, it will close to protect itself from being food itself.
