I have a 30 gallon and when i got my nuclear palys they were green now they are turning brown. I have a 50/50 light which i was told it was acceptable for these types of corals

Usually when a coral turns brown, it means it's used to stronger lighting. The brown color comes from more zooxanthellae in the tissue, as it's making more to compensate for less light.
