I have a frag plug with about 45 radioactive zoas on it. It has been doing good and I was finding new heads on it all the time. Now for about the last week it has stopped opening. I only get about 3 heads to open at once if I have any open. Nothing has changed in my system. It hasn't been moved. And all my other zoas and soft corals are doing awesome. Anything I can try to get them back to the way they was. It used to be so full that you couldn't see the plug now it looks to be melting away to nothing.

When you look closely do you see any pods on it? I had a bunch of pods irritate a group of zoas and they stayed closed until i got my mandrian to eat them, I hope its something simple. Just keep an eye on them. Good Luck!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Look for the usual suspects at night

    Sundial snails
    Zoanthids eating nudibranchs
Look under the frag for asterina stars

If after that and no pest, please post image and consider dipping.

When this happened to me I moved them to higher flow and closer to the light they opened up the very next day. Has anything changed in your tank , flow, light, etc?

They dont neccesarily bother anything, just certain types of asterinas will eat coral. They are a pain to get rid of without a harlequin shrimp, but with manual removal, over time you can kill them off.
