I bought some zoas over the weekend. They still haven't opened up yet. I've got alot of zoas in my tank already and have not experienced this type of waiting period. They are usually apt to opening from my experience. Does anyone have any feedback with zoas taking a bit to open in a new home?

Yes, at times they will take some time to open up! Do you have them placed next to another type of coral that may be irritating them, or is their something disturbing them? Otherwise, give them some time.

I had them placed high in the tank. So, I moved them lower thinking they may have been too high. They are not close to any corals that would bother them. I hope they open so, I can post some pics. They cost me 100 bucks for 2 seperate pieces with alot of nice colors.

Wow, what are they? Purple People Eaters, Purple Death's or equivalent?
Just experiment with them as they are a hardy octocoral.

Not quite that killer. But, it's 2 seperate large rocks with a lot of polyps. Some bright reds, yellows, and oranges.

Have you examined the zoanthids for nudibranchs and/or zoa pox?
