I just fed my fish tonight, i keep pumps off for 20 minutes. And i noticed about half my zoas were closed.

Was this just because there was no flow for a short period of time, or were they eating the food floating in the water?

Pumps are back on and their opening up again

my polyps usually close up when i feed as well.
im guessing they are eating what they can catch. i never turn off my pumps so i dont think is the flow.

My guess would be they caught some food! Mine have snagged a small piece of Brine or Mysis occasionally and close up slightly.

Munching, they should open rite up in a few min after. My zoas have been open like never before since i started using a turkey baster to put some rods over them.

I now only feed the tank with target feeding, the fish can get to the food with no problem and instead of the small particles (in the rods food) to be floating around, they get to the coral. All my corals have responded well to this, some palys i got from someone are startin to get there color back. I thought they were just brown but now I can see that they are green and gettin nicer by the day. My six line is smart and will look for it in the coral and try to snatch chunks out of them. What do you feed? Try it and let me know how it goes. Good Luck

thats awesome. i feed San Franscisco Frozen Brine and ocean nutrition formula one flakes soaked in garlic every other day. My fish are to big of pigs to only have the corals target fed
