I haven't found any good sites regarding zoas and optimal conditions for them. Mine are very much the same as when they were placed in the tank 3 months ago, no growth at all. Can someone point me to a good info site that covers them?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Its hard to find a place that will tell you "This is how zoas should be kept" because.. well, plainly put, they could probably survive in a toilet if need be (not really).

The thing about zoas is that some grow like weeds and some others grow very very slowly. It does depend on the conditions of your tank, but it depends more on what kind of zoa you are dealing with.

I have some dragon eyes and fire and ice zoas that I have fragged several times over the couple of years that they have been in my tank. The day I bought them, I also picked up some orange bam bams that, in the same tank, have only grown about 20 polyps since then.

What kind do you have? Any pics?

Okay, I'll try for some pictures tonight.

Thanks for the site info, mission. I've been there and though it was more retailing than info. I'll take a better look.

it usually takes bout 3 months for them to fully acclimate your tank. Pretty soon if left alone and assuming nothing is wrong with them, you'll be complaining about them spreading too fast.

Here is link on info I have accumulated about zoa's.

    Reef Log - Zoanthids

Some links to other references at bottom of page...

My experience is that many kinds of zoa's take a long time to start multiplying...then they take off like gangbusters.

Some varieties are very slow growing. Others "rocketships"

Try moving around to different places in tank.

    Good luck...

Ive found that moving them around stunts their growth.

The ones that are slow growers are not in a happy place. Once you find their happy place, they grow pretty fast. But it takes months before you find their happy place.

I hope they survive long enough to find their 'happy place'.
