We installed new lighting (2 x 96W actinics) & one of my zoanthid colonies won't open up all the way. It's on it's own rock & we have that rock sitting on a rock about 3" high.

Do you think putting the zoo colony on the sand or in partial shade will help?

    TIA
    julie

You have metal halides with that right? If so I wouldn't think the pc's would be to much added to be to much for them. But thats JMO. I would say just give it a little time.

Hmmm. This is 3" from the bottom of the tank? If so the lighting wouldnt be it really, as PC's really only penetrate about 10-12" deep. But I guess it could be them. Did you maybe knock a powerhead or do anything to change the flow when you put on the lights?
How long have they been like this?

They've been like this since Sunday.

We also have 2 150W MH.

I did reposition a couple of PH, & if anything, they are getting a little less flow.

    Any change julie

Did they come from different lighting and did you position them the same depth if the same lighting. How long have they been closed up. Some just take a while to get adjusted.

What about water params? Are those all the same? Two weeks is a long time for them not to open, are they totally closed?
