Yucky Problem

Good morning fellow saltwater people,

I have a Green Bubble Anemone that is doing wonderful, *knock on wood*, however, I can't get it to eat its shrimp.

When I put the shrimp near it or in its tentacles, it just floats away, and the other fish can't eat it, because they don't like the shrimp.


My question is, if I don't feed it, can it survive with just the light and stuff that floats around in the water? Also, I heard that clownfish host the anemone when a picture of anemone and clownfish is put infront of the aquarium?

Anemones can survive just off of light but if the tentacles aren't sticky enough to catch food it may not be doing as well as you think. That can be a sign of an unhealthy anemone.
Have you doublechecked all of your parameters and made sure your lights are sufficient for it?

How am I supposed to give it food then? -.-?

 

Turn all the power heads off, then try feeding it. It may accept it if the food is there longer and the lack of flow will prevent the shrimp from blowing away. Also, you are using raw shrimp right?

What type of lighting do you have?
