Agree with FB. Its easier to move the sump with all the equipment in it if you need to. Setting up all the HOB equipment sucks because you have very little flexibility on where to put it. Aesthetically there is no comparison. Health wise for the inhabitants is a lot better as well. The equipment you select will also be because of its ability to hang on the back of the tank. Basically you're just limiting yourself.

I prefer sumps, but have had a HOB system before I upgraded....

6 bulb Aquaticlife T5 unit with timers and moonlight LEDS
AquaC Remora Pro Skimmer with mag 3
CPR HOB Refugium with Miracle Mud, Chaeto, and Gracilaria
2 Hydor Koralia 750 gph powerheads
Hydor Theo heater (installed in HOB fuge)
Phosban 150 reactor with Rowaphos (MJ1200 was installed in HOB fuge and the reactor hung on the side of fuge to keep clutter out of display)
40 pounds of fiji live rock
about 30 pounds of live sand

Only complaint i had about the sytem was the remora was a little loud, the Reef Octopus xp1000 i have now is SILENT and my wife loves me for getting it and adding a sump lol

It wasnt a bad setup. Nitrates stayed at 0, everything thrived, only equipment in the display was the mag 3, powerheads, and small MJ pump that fed the fuge.

Lol I decided against the Dream 40b competition and instead, I'm going with the dream 15g with no sump...

Once I work out the give-a-way with a few more people, I'll post an updated thread

Bummer, I was going to chime in on the 40 breeder... Aqua C Remora, CPR HOB Refugium, Ecotech Mp10's, Media Reactor

When are you posting the thread for the 15g? Is it a standard 15g tank or are cubes in the running too?

The 15g thread will open up as soon as I'm done talking to Innovative Marine...

It's possible this may all end up as a Nuvo give-a-way
