    im trying to get a idea of the life span of some inverts. particularly crabs, shrimps, and snails. so i would appreciate if you would tell me what you longest living invert(with the exception of anemones) is? and how long you've had it.

    I had Crabby, my hermit who lived for a good 5-6 years and endured a lot of move the tank here in the house, move the tank there... he was a good crab, but the move from Fla to Ga done him in :( I have however had the same coral banded shrimp since the beginning(I'm pretty sure it's the same)that would be 6-7 years

    CB shrimp......he lived 6 years until i moved

    So far 3 turbo snails(they are huge now) 1+ years, sand sifting star 1+ years, and CB shrimp 1+ years...

    Margarita snails. Bought four just to see how good they are as cleaners. Lost one to a pump intake and still have the other 3 for a good year now ;)

    My tank isnt that old but BTA is my longest living as well. One of my friends has had the same BTA for about 9yrs they can live a long time it seems, though he now has a colony of BTA's as I call it since there is like 14 in the tank now that have split off

    anemones dont really have a life span since they can reproduce by splitting you could argue that the anemone you have in you tank today is part of the same anemone that existed 2000 yrs ago.
