    ok here I am looking for a really good skimmer for around 500 maybe a little more any good brand I might end up with the new octopus pro or msx series shoot me with more idea I don't have much money left this is my last blow so hit me hard

    I think if the skimmer you have now works you should look in to a refugium or lighted/sump w/ macro. It works great for my tanks, I could trash my skimmers if I wanted to. no nitrates ever and free feeding.

    sorry his will go on a 120g set up with 40g sump/fuge RR tank. with medium stock

    Yeah Ive heard those are good. I was going to recommend the ev240 but thought it was too much. There both in the budget the ev180 is around $390 and the ev240 is around $500, both including mag drive pumps.

    Also maybe look into the precision marine bullet 2, around $380-400.

    they said that the ev180 with the mag pump is underate should use bigger pump somewhat challenge to dial in, bullet i havent check on it yet but soon will

    Precision Marine Bullet is unbeatable in performance.

    They are built like tanks and are easy to service, clean and operate.

    I like and own an Aqua C EV-240 also, and even though the EV-240 is a good skimmer, when compared to my Bullet 2 it pales.

    The EV will be more energy efficient to use, but the Bullet will be more "Skim/skum" efficient.

    Its amazing how it always comes down to dollars and cents !
