    Hi everybody!

Im a Michigander in Metro-Detroit, Dearborn to be precise. Not new to the hobby but after a 3 year hiatus due to a series of unfortunate events I've decided to get back in the reef game. Last tank was a 60 gallon cube and Im looking to go much bigger with a 150 gallon tank. Always used a DSB without a sump but I think I want to graduate to using a decent sized sump. The plumbing intimidates me tbh. I used to be pretty active on the Michigan Reefers forum but that place is a ghost town nowadays. Looking for a more active reefing community to engage with. Nice to meet you.

Welcome to 3R. A sump can be super simple if you want, even just a 20 gal spare tank down there. Overflow from display to sump, and one pump from sump to display. You don't even need partitions in the sump if you don't want.
