    hi, something is growing from my yellow leather's base. is this the way they multiply?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    They reproduce commonly in home systems by budding and longitudinal fission. But a picture is really the only resonable way for anyone to tell, otherwise it is mainly speculation. Could be any number of things from a sponge to a completely different coral.
