Has anyone ever had a yellow fiji leather kinda change colors? I am looking at getting one in a couple of days and it looks identical in shape to every other one I have seen pictures, but the color is more pink / purpleish. it's still a great looking leather, but i'm somewhat apprehensive.

    thanks.

I bought a fiji leather that was almost pure white and within a month it changed to a dark pinkish color.....

It really all depends on the type of light its under.

Maybe its not a yellow fiji leather? There are many colors to the fiji leathers, not just yellow. If it's pink/purple, thats what color it is, it didn't "change".

heres a pic the seller sent me. He said it was pretty close to the actual color and its on the bottom of a 30" tall tank with a 250 halide over it. I plan to put it half way up my tank about 14-16" away from VHO's and PC's.

With VHOS and pc you should not have to worry about where your placeing it. Its a nice looking leather. Just becare where you put it as in what corals are next to it bc leathers are know to cause chemical war fare on anything close, thus the reason i dont have any in the 180.

I have a few leathers already including a small green toadstool, a green sinularia (i think?) and an unidentified one from this thread :

carbon is always in place, and changed bi-monthly just to make sure.
