yellow cloudy water after live rock put in

    I have live rock which I bought, it had a lot of red on the rocks "Fiji rocks" and I put int in my tank the water turned yellowish is that good or bad?

    its pretty normal for a tank to become cloudy for a short period after adding new rockwork
    there will have been some debris accumulated in the pores in the rock and some of this would have drifted off into the water column as you placed and arranged the rock in your tank

    sometimes takes a day or 3 to completely clear , but IME they always do clear up eventually.

    +1 Steve.....if it does'nt clear up in a week, use activated carbon.

    HEY GUYS GREAT NEWS! soo the other day when I put my live rocks in.. i found something that looked like a starfish leg... i assumed it was dead. so I scraped it off.. and left it somewhere on the sand.. I come home.. from school and there was a miniature. ALIVE starfish climbing up my glass tank!

    probably either an asterna or possibly Brittle starfish

    live rock can come with both of these
    the brittle stars are harmless detrivores but Asterina have been known to prey on some corals

    get an image up if you can for ID purposes
