Xenia problem

    The reason I asked about the alk is xenia react bad if the alk rises or falls significantly. The stuff grows like weeds in my tank and I can always tell when the alk is off because they will close up.

    Tap water is not good to use in a reef tank even with additives to remove chlorine.

    ive been learning xenia is very sensitive to sg changes.how long in advance did you make your water?the salt needs time to desolve.what are you using to check your sg?

    mine did the same after adding some chemicals for my reef. They were originally a huge colony and head and very active. Then all the heads shrivled and feel off. They recently just re-grew heads and are starting to become active again. Took about 2 weeks.
