i have a xenia in the middle of my nanocube, it receives a good current from the power head and has excellent lighting. The problem is it just stopped pulsating and looks like the stems are dying off. I have been adding iodide to boost the iodine in the tank, need help please... water parameters are as follows: ph 8.3 nitrites, 0 nitrates, 0-10ppm, ammonia 0, kh approx 7, hardness 250, salinity 1.023, temp 77-80.:confused::confused:

What are your iodine/iodide test results. I don't recommend dosing unless you test for it. Can become a big problem if o-dosed. I never dose iodine.

Our Iodide and Iodate results are always near zero, even directly after a dose or the day after. We have a polyfilter in the tank that picks up trace elements and such, perhaps that is taking the iodine doses out?

did you checked your iodine levels befor adding iodine and after, im not positive but i dont think you need to add supps. in a nano, with quality salt and waterchanges your parims should be good,
esp. not iodine thats for for the brave.

We do a 10% weekly water change using D.I. R.O. water with Coralife Salt.
