I have Pulsing Xenia in my tank (grows like wild fire) and some has decided to take hold of my Crocea Clams shell, it has been there for about 2 weeks or so now..both seem happy (xenia pulsing, and clam is extended sucking up the light) so it doesnt seem to bother the clam, but is it something I should worry about?

I imagine the xenia can overgrow the clam...

like over grow as in harm, or over grow as it can live with it?

Overgrow as in block out the light the clam needs.

its a pretty decent size clam and it sticks itself out over the top of the xenia...i will keep an eye that it doesnt grow over the flesh, i just wonder if it has any ill effects on the shell?

It shouldn't do anything to the shell itself, but I'd definitely be concerned about it because of the speed Xenia can grow at.

my xenia has done the same thing to my clam.. Over time the xenia got to be a little too much.. So i just trimmed what i could off and what was left has begun to grow new little heads.. So just keep an eye on it. If it gets to be too much just trim it back. ;)

Sinc \e you can FW dip clams for a decent amount of time, I would do a FW dip for about 45 minutes. Hopefully that will kill the xenia.
