If the definition wasn't so vague or even gave a list of species or families of animals that are considered domesticated. Most people don't consider many animals commonly found in the pet trade "pets".

I feel the bill has a decent goal, but is poorly worded and to vague. However, bills like these are purposely vague.

I do agree that a ban of all non-native reptiles is not the way to go. There are many, many species of lizards and snakes in the exotic pet trade that remain small and harmless. Furthermore, one needs a permit and gov-approved housing to keep poisonous reptiles as well as large cats and primates; why not just have the same requirement for the larger snakes and lizards? A ban won't stop them from being imported. It will only stop them from being imported legally. :)
