One of my local LFS had a Fusion 40 with a shipping ding in the top right side of the front panel. After a very close inspection and after a week of thinking about it, I decided the tank is still structurally sound.

So I made them an offer and they accepted. I got a very very good deal...:biggrinbounce:

Today I removed the chip and cleaned up the surfaces with a razor and alcohol, then made a dam for a plug of black 5200.

The best part about this whole deal is I doubled my system volume and I can use all my existing gear, and might even make money when I sell my Fusion 20.

I will do a leak check in a few days after the 5200 dries.

Yes indeed, I am going to move everything over. I still have some left over black sand that I'll mix with the washed sand that I'm using now. I don't want to lose the fauna thats on my current sand, but I don't want hydrogen sulfide either so I'll aerate and tumble it for a couple days when the time comes.

I think a single MP10 will be enough as its around 50% now, so we'll see. I need a slighter larger return pump than the Eheim 1000 currently on the 20, so I could go to around 500gph on my return to make for the MP10. I'll know soon enough.

You're a bad bad influence WT, bad!!!!

Let see who makes the transfer faster.:p

How deep is your current sand bed. Mine gets blown around so much I doubt there are any anoxic areas.

Well, this deal just kinda happened, I am content with my 20.

However, doubling volume for very little coin is an opportunity I am not going to pass on...

A new return pump, bigger inTank media basket, and new skimmer should do it. I do need advice on a skimmer, it must go in the skimmer compartment, no monkey business.

I am without a stand. Its looking like a ¾ marine plywood build like floydie83 did for his cube, so that might be a little while.

I want it to sit in the right compartment, not squeezed into the return section.
