There is a sump on the way. Most of the rock is 10-15 years old from a 90 breakdown.

I wouldn't, but that's just me. The tank is a bit small for a yellow; he'd get pretty dominant

A yellow would outgrow a 65 but i am not saying you can't have one in that tank. You would just need a plan for when he grows other than taking him back to a LFS because that doesn't always work.

I've always hated the idea of having a temporary fish.. If my tank can't house it permanently, I wouldn't have it in there in the first place. (with the exception of aggression, because that can happen without notice)

Yellow Tangs do get territorial and it will start to thrash away with its tail on the other tank mates to claim his territory. I had my YT kill a Flame Angel and after that the YT was sent to San Quentin (LFS) to do his time and replaced him with another Flame Angel.

From all I see is one fish I don't see why you couldn't add a yellow tang? It's not like you've got 15 fish in there. If you don't plan on adding more fish I honestly don't see an issue with adding a small yellow
