    nothing is going to penetrate 51 inches unless its those 1000 watt halides or maybe ecoxotic cannons. I dont even know

    This is going to be a TON of money.

    If I read this right the tank will be roughly 7'x2'x4' give or take a few inches, this sounds like an interesting shape. I would reconsider the width and go even larger personally for more aqua scaling room.

    In terms of lights those 1000 w mh will run $ in electricity. And bulb replacement. For that depth consider a 100w pendant instead with supplemental LEDs. You could use 3 100w pendants for coverage

    I dont think the ai"s will do much penetration in a 51 inch tank.
    Orphek makes some big lights specifically for deep tanks. Those maybe a better option.

    Call me lazy but here is a thread with a massive build and I think his tank was 4ft tall. Somewhere in there is his lighting I don't feel like browsing through to find it from my phone though.

    LED with 40 degree optics should penetrate to the bottom.

    I have 40deg optics above my 12in deep tank lol. Lights are about 16in above tank thoufhy

    we are still working, i took my 1st trip to vivid today in canoga park and i gave him my measurements and he said 3 250's would be okay but from what yall' is blabbing about i think he is wrong
