I am looking for some feedback on if my idea would cause a problem....I want to isolate my UV filter from return system.

The plumbing is not an issue...

My concern is would I need to worry about algae/mold issues from the water that stays in the UV filter?

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thank you.

    If additional info is needed...

For simplicity sake, I have a sump, return pump, and UV filter.

The Return Pump is connected directly to the UV Filter (which is currently turned off) and the output from the UV goes directly to the Tank.

My thought is to put a shut off valve to isolate the UV filter so that I don't have water flowing into it all the time as it is currently not in use, nor do I plan on keeping it on for long periods of time.
