so i looked in my tank at night for the first time and i saw from two tiny holes in a small piece of live rock a few little tentacles sticking out from each as soon as i shone the light more directly towards them they slipped back into their little holes and you could only see like a tiny little bit of them. they where out to about 1 inch or so. are they bad? good? what should i do about them

probably bristle worms. Nothing to work about, they will help take care of any food that was not ate. Once they have been in there for a good while, you will start to see them any time you feed.

Maybe this link on worms will help. Could be so many things, from spionid worms to tube worms.

    Legs of little brittle stars?

Either way live rock is full of all kinds of little critters and the majority are just fine.
