Well my reef tank used to be a Fish Only. It was at 40 ppm Nitrates and I dropped it to about 20 ppm before I added any invert livestock other then snails. Well I have done many water changes and put a fuge on that has been setup for about a month now. Well I did a water change today and checked the ole nitrates and they are between 5-7 at the moment. It took a long time but I am starting to win the battle!!! Just wanted to post, its great to finally see a lot of improvement!

I am glad you are having success. Many people post that they have high nitrates, but I haven't seen many posts where they were actually able to lower them. Good job! Hopefully this will inspire others to continue to try hard.
