    haha how come its not already a refugium? you can move all those rocks over from the left so the skimmer doesn't suck up all the pods

    LOl you know i really dont know. I bought some micro algae today so i was going to set everything up tonight how much of sand bed would i need ????

    dunno haha, just assumed you wanted a deep sand bed when people ask "how much?" ya id rather do like .5"-1" and use a lot of lr rubble to run along the bed and leave room at the top for chaeto. larger lr will keep the chaeto from tumbling.

    I was thinking of doing about a one inch sand bed but am trying to figure out how to keep the macroalge from going over the baffle into the return pump. or would that be somthing I even have to worry about?

    I wouldn't go with a deep sand bed it would be dangerous if stirred, just 1''-2'' layer of sand.
