Will this light unit be enough for SPS?

I would skip on that light, no place in the description does it say t5ho it only says t5s.
Also it doesn't say anything about the reflectors.
    Not a good choice.

    Edit

It says the whites are t5ho and then the next sentence it says 24" power compact ?

What are you specifically looking for in regards to those topics?

    It says this:

"German designed aluminum reflector for maximum lighting effect"

    "Built-in internal double arc reflector"

    "(2) x 24W fluorescent T5 HO 12,000k"

I went back through and re read it but it also says

    FEATURES: 24" Black finish PL power compact fluorescent and actinic blue lamps; (2) x 24W fluorescent T5 HO 12,000k white daylight PL lamps offers natural sunlight;

So is it a power compact or t5 or t5ho
What is a double arc reflector ? You should read up reflectors and the different kind of reflectors.

But either way if it is a t5ho and you do get it I would look at getting a bit better bulbs I have never seen any fixture that come with bulbs be good builds they are always off in color and have very low par values out of the box fwiw.

If the price is about the same, get one or more or the Ebay TaoTronic LEDS 120W, standard, or now with a dimmable model. Those will run about 150 -165 each. About 15yr bulb life- id you plan to keep doing this- this is BIG!

What size tank is this going on?

I'm guessing double arch looks like the MacDonald's sign with two bulbs under each.

    I'm fairly confident it's t5 HO.

    20. This will eventually become a fuge (hopefully within the next 6 months) for a 55 gallon. You think I would need 2 of these units to house SPS? Seems extremely excessive, no?

One of the Taotronics should cover that tank nicely and it will be the same cost or close to it if you buy this fixture and new bulbs like ati or simaler.

I'm thinking about going the Taotronics way myself soon if I do I'm buying two for my 6' long tank sps and Zoas

I gotca.. It's really up to you I would be a pretty penny the bulbs will be horribly
But I used to run a 4x39 watt with the same kind of reflector just a different brand and ati bulbs I housed sps no issue at all.

But like really look into that led fixture if it's just to much then go for this one if you don't like it return it :)

That's a T5HO, and one unit would be more than sufficient for SPS, clams, etc.

However, I, too, would recommend switching out the OEM bulbs for ATI.
