I got this blastomussa wellsi from the LFS today and a small part of it seems to be dead . the lfs said it was damaged during shipment but it was in the display tank for few weeks already. will it heal or something or will that part of the coral just die?

Hit or miss. Looks like like it will heal.

It could do alot of things, but none will really matter to you. 1. It will die off and eventually spread and look normal again. 2. It will heal and look fine. 3. It will heal and look disfigured (if that happens, all you need to do is cut it off and let the rest of it regenerate another).

So that means even if that polyp dies it won't spread and kill the rest? ;D that's awesome to hear

Unless it has some infection, it will not kill the rest of your blasto. To me if the damages head looks ok it will heal.
