Will it grow back? Bengai missing part of fin.

    today i noticed my bengai cardinal is missing a part of his tail fin.end of bottom part of the fork. fish is healthy, my damsel may have nipped at him. his guy is my fav. fish and he is the biggest one i have seen. i would less less than a 1/4 in. will this fish regenerate that part of the fin?

    most of the time it will completely come back unless there is significant damage.

    It should come back. However, if the damsel is nipping at him stressing him out and causing further damage it may not come back as quickly. Keep an eye on the damsel.

    ya i just dont know what caused it. it is hardly noticeable i doubt the average person could find the flaw. i will post of before and after. pics taken months apart. here is of him "normal"

    does any body know? i now in the past (fresh water) the fins will grow back, but most of the times it was due to disease (fin loss). anybody?

    +1. I have had many a fish lose parts of their fins and they always grew back. It does not take that much time.
