I am thinking of setting up a fuge in an attempt to get my nitrates down from 30ppm. from looking around many seem to put chaeto in and it seems to do the job. i was talking to my lfs and they said it was a bad thing because it has been found to strip the tank of magnesium and calcium. Now im really confused. Help

I have never heard that, chaeto feeds of nitrates and phosphates.

Chaeto is used in fuges of many successful SPS reefs, which need PRISTINE water. I think it should be fine. Can't argue with results.
