will a Vortech Propellor Pump MP40W ( Gen 2 ) create enough movment for a 8x2x2?

    what kind of pump should i get for my aquarium? to move the water around....im thinking about a Vortech Propellor Pump MP40W ( Gen 2 ) what are they like? would 1 be enough for a 8x2x2?

    I have two for my 240,I would go with two on your tank with it being long also.They are very good pumps and allows you to adjust your flow to your needs.

    I would go with two as well. I have two in my 120. You will adjust them down but the 40's give you features that the 20's don't.

    Me too, unless you had other big water movers. A couple bigger Korallias (korallia 4 and up) put in with 1 mp4o will work well.

    I like the vortechs, but they make a klot more noise than I would expect them to. This is especially true when the pump is set to vary and make waves, It vibrates and hums then.

    Hmmm,mine are almost silent as long as I line up the two sides just right,a little off and they make a small noise but a little fiddlin' with and alls quiet again,then I try not to touch them again.

    All of the vortechs I have seen in person make way too much noise / vibration than you would expect a pricey top of the line wavemaker to make.
