My CBS somehow lost a claw. I am wondering if he will grow another in its place or if thats it, and he will be claw-less for his time being..

Yes they will regrow claws, just like most crustaciens. It had occured to mine when I had first purchased it for my Biocube, and it took not too long if I remember right for it to grow back, I would say around 1-2 months(I think). Hope this helps =-)

i bought my pistol shrimp from the LFS with no big pistol claw. it only had the little claw; but i couldn't resist getting it because virtually no other LFS's had any pistol shrimps with goby's in stock. They told me claw would soon grow back, and they were right! I think it only took like 10-15 days, way faster than I thought, for the claw to grow back. I remember seeing the nub there and then a couple days later i hear that crazy thing snapping away at my emerald crab that was getting too close to his home! :)

Indeed, they grow back. Times obviously vary for regrow...
Mine lost both of it's claws when i tried to catch him with a net, he left both of his claws and disappeared.
Took about 7 days for a molt to occur, and then suddenly they were there 15 minutes later.
