will a background that is siliconed on come off???

    So guys i found a sweet deal on craigslist 150 gallon tank with stand $250 bucks...the only problem is it has a siliconed 3d rock background on it? would i be able to scrape that off?

    If silicone was used, yes.........Glass or acrylic?

    Glass tank...use razor blade and putty knife? you think that is a good deal also?

    Yes, on a glass tank, use a razor blade. I say that is an Ok deal, but I would try around 200 tops because so many used tanks are out there from people taking tanks down and selling them.

    I mean i can prob get 200 for my 90 gallon with a stand maybe 300 if i throw in the glass canopys and standard lights and maybe more with a fluval 404 that i have so for me i think it would be a great deal the guy wanted 300 and i said 200 and he said 250 is the lowest he would go sooo....with a stand and canopy thats pretty dank i think

    Good deal. Yes the background should come off fine. Patience and a razor blade do wonders. Was it fresh or salt? If it was freshwater make sure no copper was used in the tank.

    it was fresh...if copper was used how would i go about de-toxing it?

    Heard cuprisorb works, but I've also heard that it will keep leaching out over time. Not quite sure. i'm sure others will speak up on that topic.
