I just got two snails from a friend that I do not want to put in my tank because i dont know what they are. The have a long foot or arm attached to their body with a fin or blade looking item on the end. The also have tons of clear slime when you pick them up, if someone could please tell me what they are or any ideas I would rest in peace.

light brown and green - kinda like a crown at the tail end and flat at the head end. When we went to put it in the tank the snail was completely covered with a huge slime trail.... afraid to put it in -- unless that is normal --- the guy at the LFS told our friend that they were good sand sifting snails.... any help would be appreciated.

It could be, they are fighting and my biggest concern was the slime.
