    What have we become!! children are starving all over the world and we spend 50+ dollars FOR SAND!!!

    What we should do is go to starving areas near the beach and trade them food for sand.

    I agree, the world markets are ridiculous.

    Actually, you would be shocked. Aragonite sand is controlled by national and international regulations, subject to tariffs and taxes, etc. For a while, there was a company called Southdown that sold play aragonite play sand but that was only available in certain parts of the country and now it's not available at all.
