BTW, meant has an A in it. Maybe we can debate spelling instead of Borate?

Thread has been removed because seemingly... their are few that do not wish to learn any thing... ( they already know it all )

To those who wish to be "men" , you know where to find me and/or disscuss such matters in private.

And i thought thats what 3reef was all about ? sharing idea's and thoughts on subjects of reef keeping. and /or opinions...
seemingly thats "reserved" for a few around here.

I contacted Robert Howell cause I knew this was all rubbish. I also talked to "Beth" who said Mr Howell wasnt the one doing the research, "Mrs. Meadows" was the one doing the research or something like that. I have the conversation saved incase anybody doubted it. I also have the emails to and from Mr Howell where he says he has no clue what I was talking about which I find rather funny. I have all conversations from the day saved.

The original thread on this stated that Mr Howell sent them this long email that was copied word for word from a post from MDP on another board.

Here is my conversation with Mr Howell.

    Mr. Howell
I was told you were doing some research on Borax and Baking soda for reef aquaria. I was wondering if you had spoken with Mike Del Prete about any of it.

    Thanks

    Brian,
I do not know who gave you your information or who Mike Del Prete is, but I do not even own a gold fish bowl, sorry.

    So I said to him...

He never responded back to that.

Honestly it doesn't matter what his "test results" would have said even if he had a clue what I was talking about because a study on the benefits or lack thereof using Borax and Baking Soda would take a lot longer then a few weeks, possibly a few years even.

The whole article from MDP, IMO, I wouldnt listen to a guy who is a SALT MANUFACTURER who is againt a DIY method that cuts into their profit margin.

    No, not yet.
I'm done. I made my point perfectly clear. I didn't break any forum rules, or call anyone names.

So what, wareagle and wildreef are mad for getting schooled again. They'll get over it, or they can pack their bags and leave.

I doubt any chemist or scientist would look at the labels/MSDS of the Borax, Arm & Hammer, and any other name brand reef buffer and not realize they are the same basic ingredients and do the same thing if dosed correctly. I really believe that they made up that letter and the whole thing. In fact, if someone did call the REAL Dr. Howell, (I dunno, maybe Tangster, Reefgeek, Otty) it was probably to inform him that someone on this forum was impersonating him or putting words out that he didn't write. I think those Alabama boys have too much time on thier hands, made this whole thing up, and are now in trouble for mis-representing that scientist, and now they want the thread closed to conceal the evidence.
We can forward this PM to Matt Rogers, too if he wants to read it.
