Wait and watch and make sure there is no stress or harassment from other fish. Keep us posted.

It sounds as if it was very stressed during the acclimation to the tank. Time will tell. Is it eating?

The white spots are probably marine ich. Stressed fish have a lower immuno reponse and the parasite is able to attack the fish. This happens to tangs often during acclimation. Posting a picture would be of great help.

Cleaner shrimp are a must with tangs in my opinion. Greatest insurance policy. My two tangs have never exhibited ich in the two years I've had them and I've got two Red Skunk Cleaners in my 80 gallon.

    Great news for you!
