    Yeah, normal. New setup this usually happens a bit. It will bounce back.

    I agree. The purple up is a waste of money - regular water changes (after cycle) is all you need to do and it will spread right back and keep on going.

    (IMO, LFS that push purple up are just pushing product)

    it took 8 months to completely cover my back glass once I stopped cleaning it... to give you some sort of idea...

    your mileage may vary

    stable reef level parameters are key. go slow, let it grow. nothing is quick in this hobby :)

    and by your pictures it looks like some tiny feather dusters, not some coraline

    but as for coraline, it takes a couple of months... but like we all say: go slow, let it grow

    Normal.

    If you see any spots on your rock that is a very bright neon purple or pink under your actinics it is a good indication that the coralline is dying off but it will soon come back under the right parameters.

    ive noticed on some of my live rock, that before the purple coralline grows, the rock will be a peraly white right before then, all of a sudden i have a huge outbrake in purple coralline, and i don't dose anything, so it's possible your rock may be doing the same
