White Coraline !!

So in a matter of two days, all my nice purple coraline has turned white.
What is going on ? I will be checking my params, but what causes this ?

did you do a large waterchange and leave your lights on?

 

it means its dieing there is a change in you parameters.

 

Sometimes switching to a higher power light can whipe it out. Along with huge param changes...did you do anything out of the ordinary before it turned white? White coraline is dead coraline

 

Tested water 4 days ago, everything fine. No change in light. 20 gallon cahnge 2 weeks ago.

Nothing really out of the norm. I will check params tonight, but what params affect this ? CA, MG or what ?

 

Mag usually is low when mine starts to get white on the edges.

 

Check CA and MG. Did you overdose one or the other? How are the other inhabitants?

 

OK, here is what I tested so far

PH - 8.1
ALK - 9.0
CA - 440
MG - 1450

I don't see any issues here. I will check the others as well but I dont expect a change.

The last additives were, some ALK last night, Iodite, and Strontium. The bottles say every 4 days so I have been doing every Wed and Sat along with the ALK. I have a Iodine test kit and still is un readable.

All life seemes fine. Well the Green bulbble tip is now long and thin instead of short and fat, but thats it.
Any ideas ?

 

Is it dying everywhere or just at the top of the tank on the glass? You can easily kill it if it is out of the water too long during a water change.

Did you recently upgrade your lights?

Check to make sure your timers are working and that your lights aren't stuck on 24/7.

 

Lace your dying coraline with your other Lr covered in it.
Should start spreading again
