I have a 100g tank that I'm looking to improve the lights from my VERY basic set up right now. I'm looking at the Nova Extreme 8x54, Nova Extreme Pro 6x54, or a TEK 8x54. Any suggestions?????? Right now my tank is just a FOWLR, but I "might" start to include corals in the near future......
I know the Extreme Pro offers seperate reflectors which I've heard are very important.....although I've heard you want as much light as possible, so I should go with the "8" light over the "6".
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!!!

The Tek lights are a bit better than the Nova IMO. I would personally go for the 8 bulb set-up over the 6 if you have the means. With 8x54W T5 you should be able to keep just about anything you want in your 100g tank.

The TEK should have individual reflectors as well. Very good fixture.

any of those would be very good choices. TEK does not include legs or splash guard. Keep that in mind when shopping.

I got my 8 bulb fixture from Catalina Aquarium, i think i paid $360 shipped for an 8 bulb t-5 24" with led moon lights. Not sure how the prices compare. Im extremely happy with the fixture.

The nova extreme PRO has individual slr type reflectors as well. I would say the tek 8x54 or the nova 6x54 pro versions would be my choice. Depends on which one is cheaper. The tek has no cooling, so it isn't as good for PAR as it could be.

I don't know if the nova pro has a fan, but I think it does as the non pro nova does have a fan. The fan does boost PAR by cooling the bulbs.

I have a friend with the 6c54 pro on his 120 g tank and he has no issues growing SPS and a crocea clam.
