I have the TEK in a 8 bulb, 54 watt T5. Very intense lighting. I would recomend the, TEK but then i have never used the Current.

I would recommend the Tek light of the Current light. I have used both, and currently am running a 6x54w. Tek fixture over my 55.

the biggest draw to the sundail was the build in timer fans and LED moonlights. is there a diff tek fixture that has those items build in, or an easy way to implement that in a way that actually looks good.

If I had the cash TEK would be the way....or ATI is even better but alot more cash involved..I am using a fixture from buildyouraquarium.com and that is not the way to go !....good luck....

isn't the 6x54 wider than the actual 55 gallon tank, i also have a 55 and i think the light is like 15 in and the tank is 13??..... is that a problem for you, or does it not matter.... i'm also interested in getting into t5 lighting as the op...

    thanks

THe 6-54 TEK is 15 inches but the bulbs are only 12 so it will work great but you might have to get a peice of small angle iron or aluminum angle to set the stands on unless you hang it. But the bulbs themselves are a perfect fit for a 55....

I have the Current Sundial on my 46 BF and am happy with it. The timers are nice. I've been able to grow the corals I wanted just by placement. See if Peredhil will chime in here - he runs the Current Sundial light on a 55. :)

I also upgraded the "factory bulbs" with some Giesemann and ATI bulbs.
