    8 to 12 is the acceptable alk range,one end of the scale or the other really doesn't matter as much as good stability at a consistent level.I've been using coral pro for the last year and am going back to RC's,as the last two batches of coral pro have had really low alk values (way under advertised levels) and I've had more nutrient related issues with it as well.Used RC's for years prior with no issues or dosing my softy/lps systems.
