I am leaning toward mainly sps tank. I currently use io reef crystals. The guy I get my corals from told me to get rid of it. He said that io rc come out of the bucket at 13dkh and that I should keep my dkh at 7-8. So by using rc it create to much of a swing. he recommend that I use tropical marine pro reef or red sea coral pro.He said with to high of alk it could give the coral alk burn. Please give me suggestions? Do I need to change? I Know everyone has there own opinion but the more the better.

    Thanks

I think you will find that the majority of the reefers use IO or IO reef crystals. Its a good quality salt.

I think your LFS is wrong....no offense. Now i havent tested on my own but i did just do a search and found that most people get 7dkh at 1.025.

I use red sea c/p now and they actually advertise on the label that it produces a DKH of 12.2,I've never tested newly mixed water to confirm.

BTW, I have 3 clams(1 large, 1 kinda large, and 1 small) a ton of LPS and sofites, and a few SPS and don't dose a thing with 10% weekly WC's.

I'm getting lazy these days, so I'm dosing a small amount of kalkwasser in my ATO so I can do bi weekly WC's;)
