    Hello All-

I just set up a 40g breeder 2 months ago and I've had my Red Sea Wavemaker on it the entire time. I was wondering what setting people prefer on their tank. I currently have mine on the reef turbulent setting using 3 Hydors, but I was wondering if people recommend the random one. My goal is to eventually have mostly SPS in the tank so I was thinking the turbulent setting for maximum flow...

    Thanks for the input!

For SPS I think the reef turbulent is the way to go. I do not have the wavemaker though. If you have a huge amount of flow from the pumps then random would work also.

    Thanks 2in10!

I was thinking random; it will still give the tank 8 hours of the most turbulent flow in 2 four hour blocks. I was more concerned about the gentle flow blocks as a potential for algae to get a foothold with reduced flow... I have no issues now, just paranoid...
