Which pump?

so i am going to be adding an over flow box and sump to my biocube.
Right now i am gonna be getting the eshopps pf-300 which has a max intake of 300 gph.

my question is which pump should i get?

i have no idea where to begin

do i want a pump that pumps less than 300gph or do i want one that pumps more and just add a valve to tune it back?

any help is appreciated

 

You will want a pump capable of around 400-500 gph to take care of head pressure with a ball valve in the line to dial it back. I like Rio pumps. There dead silent and dont seem to add much heat.
