    ill look into it...If i were gonna keep the halides i would like to upgrade the ballasts to 250w
    think that would be hard?

    no not at all. Make sure that your cables will be sufficient. And double check the plugs on from ballast to sockets. Maybe different and may have to replace.

    I purchased galaxy ballast from aquacave. Even has the other cables to buy to run to your sockets.

    But you have to ask yourself is it worth it? If you did the cannibilization method of both fixtures you would have quite a bit of lighting and really dont think you need to do that kind of an upgrade. But if your willing to drop the $$$ for an extra 150w of lighting... then do it. That would make me envy your lighting ;)

    welll i wouldnt be dropping $$ lets say.... the halides i picked up reallllllll cheap like for a 100$ cheap....someone i knew was getting rid of their tank ad wanted them gone....so i can sell my T5's or this fixture for alot more and put that back into my lights and still make money....

    but are you gonna have any other supplementing lights to the halides???

    ok... so now your thinkin bout a canopy?????

    There is gonna be a lot of thinking and planning if you go the canopy route. will take some headaches and some fine thinking.
    Some will say canopy isnt all that and has more cons than pros. But in your case to achieve what your trying to do a canopy is your best route IMO.

    some good ol fashioned research is good idea. In my tank thread I was talking about the idea of retrofitting a canopy.

    keep it all rip that stuff up..time for a DIY canopy...that what i did on my 90 gallon... 2x250w halides.. 4x96watt pc... and a 96 over the sump/refugium....thats right boys and girls 1000watts.....dang i need a chiller
