Which light to do you use?

I was curious about what lighting you are using on your reef and what you think of it.

 

I use VHO on my main tank right now. 4 110 watt lamps. 2 Super Actinic and 2 Actinic White URI bulbs. I have a hood that has 2 250 watt Halides and I prefer that look better but It made so much hair algea. I am going to put it back up soon. The algae is under control finaly. I do like my VHO fixture very much also.

I use both VHO and Metal Halide but there isn't a "combo" option

 

4 x 110 watt VHO's on a icecap ballast. 1 actinic bulb and 2 50/50 and 1 10,000k. I've had the vho's for years with my freshwater plant tank and love them. I do want to get MH at some point to get that shimmering water effect and more advanced coral possibilities.

i have PC's but eventually i do wanna get to MH...wat would be a good fixture for a 55gal? maybe 2 150s + vhos? that seems like kinda alot...

Thought about the combo, but I thought things might get murky. Sorry! Next time I'll do it. Although we can call this one, 'primary' lighting. :thumbs_up

 

2 175watt MH lights with 80 watts of NO Actinics and a moonlight.;D

 

I have 4 110 watts vho lamps and two 250 watts mh on a 120 gallon reef and its working very good.
